Beaver Distric Hike

A big thank you to Kim at Ardsley for arranging this years hike and providing Beavers, ducks and geese with refreshments half way round. We had 10 Beavers from Darfield, who I am sure will have gone to bed very early last night. It will all have been good practice for our sponsored walk to be held on Tuesday 25 May.

District Beaver Quiz

The District Beaver Quiz will be held at Darfield on Tuesday 20 April 6-7pm, we hope to get started promptly as there is a lot to get through. Please make every effort to come along.

Cyclo Cross

Well done to the Beavers who attended the cyclo cross on Sunday, everyone tried really and hard we brought back the team trophy for the second year running.

Scout Mag

Half Term

Just incase you haven't noticed its half term again, therefore there will be no beavers,cubs or scouts this week and we will resume again on the 23rd Feb. Have a good half term :)

PANTO

We will meet at the car park on Summer Lane near the Operatic Centre at 2:05pm in FULL UNIFORM. It is hoping to finish approx 5pm. Please pick your child up from the car park where you dropped them off. No money is needed.

Weather Update

Sorry but due to the bad weather all sections will be closed this week. Back to normal next Tuesday.

Happy Christmas

The leaders at Darfield would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Very Happy 2010. We will open again on Tuesday 5 January.

Beaver Bowling at Barnsley Bowl (22nd December)

Can you please drop beavers off at Barnsley Bowl at 5:45pm; we need to be bowling by 6pm to get the special rate. We will collect subs as normal; the rest will be paid from Beavers funds. You are welcome to stay and watch if you would like to.

Beaver Carol Service (15th December)

We will meet at the church hall at 6pm and i estimate that we will be back there for 7pm. FULL UNIFORM and loud singing voices please. We will be singing at the local old peoples home, Thornhill.

Group Panto Visit

On Sunday the 10th january there is our group visit to the pantomime at Wombwell. We will meet at the car park on Summer Lane near the Operatic Centre at 2:05pm in FULL UNIFORM. Xmas Camp

Thank you to everyone who helped make our Christmas camp so enjoyable and successful. The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts all enjoyed a weekend of crafty Christmas activities and woodland activities. We all enjoyed a full Christmas dinner which was prepared by John so a big thank you to him for feeding us :)

Hopefully the children enjoyed it as much as we did!

Presentation Evening

Well done to all the Beavers who were presented with their Emergency Aid Stage 1 Badge. The Beavers have all worked very hard over the last few weeks. I must also mention Sam and Emily who were awarded the Hike 1 Badge for completing a 8 mile hike in Castleton. Well done to everyone.

Children In Need

Thank you to everyone who supported the Children in Need fundraising, we collected a total of £87.65, keep a look out for a mention on Friday night, as I will be sending our details into the BBC.

Remembrance Sunday

Remembrance Sunday and the Swimming gala

Well done to all the beavers, cubs and scouts who attended the Remembrance Sunday, the behaviour was fantastic even though it rained.

Well done to all the Beavers who attended the fun swim last Saturday it looked so fun.

A BIG BRAVO to Darfield cubs and scouts who swam in the swimming gala you did us proud ! :D

Cub Update

Since September Darfield Cubs have been undertaking activities to gain a number of badges, including the Chefs badge. Work has been completed on identifying hazards in a kitchen, designing a healthy, and unhealthy plate of food and cooking a two course meal. This was completed on Tuesday, and from the number of empty plates it was definitely a success. Well done Cubs!
